Present: 5 planners
Next meeting proposed for Mar 11, 6:30--Marcia to facilitate?
Follow up calls--list to people soon
19 registrations so far
Only a few proposals
Proposed and approved: Extend deadline for submissions for all proposals to March 15
Structure proposal: 2 people are working on a slightly different idea--will send out draft of idea/note that would go out, to conf planning
Follow up emails: YES to schedule but it was cautioned people are un-subscribing and we need to get all the info in & not keep re-sending
Action Proposals: a call specifically for action proposals that will go to admins and be used to blast listserves
Students: Brainstorm students to get involved in planning--
if you know students ask them to get involved...
RULES: We made some modifications, a new draft will be circulated
voted and approved -- changes incl: 50+1 voting
except for actions which will be voted on the same way as last year
--structure hybrids taken from floor
--new wording about endorsements
--action proposals only taken from floor if circumstances have changed much since 3/15
We approved voting paddle idea with each organization getting 2 votes as they did last year.
Facilitators: Suggested and approved we talk to Champaign people to facilitate, one woman, one man and a planner will do this and get back to conf planning on those chosen
Suggested and no objections raised: Recognize youth organizers during welcome
more discussion to flesh this out next time.
We discussed dots having #s--more concrete proposal will be given at next call.
Marcia sent out menu--everyone thought the suggested items were good. If you have any strong objections pls let hotel contact know.
We need more people on the next call, lots of tasks on the list before conference.
Please make the next call or talk to those you know who have time and want to give time...there is a free prize to all those on conf planning...
We did discuss getting actions on tool at or after conference--we decided it would probably go more smoothly than last year and made no special arrangements/provisions to address this.
Logistics: Hotel has extended date for booking rooms until March 12, this info should be incl in new email or communication about conf until then--
not discussed: one planner wanted to bring up getting people from ICJPE member groups to submit bios if they're interested in being part of CC so we can have an informed vote--also I think it would focus people on thinking about doing it, and not have a spur of the moment decision at the conf--
and would help people get to know each other--
another thing I had mentioned--April 4 is anniversary of MLK Jr.'s Speech against the war we might want to somehow remember that, somehow-??
